Cheating: All kinds of cheats are forbidden. Due to this, all known cheats and "no sports-men games" (like entering a channel with a friend, without the pupose of playing a real game) are forbidden, too. Cheaters will be punished by a decrease of points (normaly 50 %). Passive team play: Passive team play is NOT allowed!!! - Direct passive team play
In this variant two people play in one channel with other people (one with team, the other one without team) and they don't use negative specials against each other, but positive ones to help each other. At the end of the game, when only these two are left, the one without team kills himself that the team gets 3 points. - Indirect passive team play
In principle the same like the direct passive team play, but here is no use of positive specials between the "team players", that it won't be noticed in the channel, besides the nick of the passive supporter is often changed. Example: Player A is with team, Player B without. In the channel are also player C and D. At first player A and B attack player C and D. At the end A and B are left. B has still 3 g's. But he doesn't use these, because player A wouldn't get points, but he makes missdrops that he loses.
These both types of the game shouldn't be mixed up with general game situations, e.g. the player can use positive specials as offensive weapon or can be afk and that's why lose at the end of the game. Unfortunately this passive team play is difficult to recognize and when you think that somebody is doing this inform an OP who observes that and makes it an end than having endless discussions. Most important: Do NOT warn the persons concerned! Active team play: "Active team play" means that two ore more players play in the same channel with the same teamtag. "Active Team Play" normally is allowed only for making team matches against other teams (that means 2on2, 2on2on2, 3on3). If one or more players in the channel do not agree to the team play, all players in this channel have to neglect "active team play". Furthermore it is not allowed that all players in one channel are playing with the same teamtag. Behaviour: Everyone should always be friendly to each other. Even though, the internet seems to make you anonymous, the same rules as in real life should work here. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. You should not insult or provoke other players. Tetrinet is not a platform for disputes. Choice of words: Communication in the chat rooms should be "normal". The repulsive nicks, team or channel names, as well as "dirty" language in the chat are prohibited. You might find this rule fussy, but there are users who do not like that. Flooding is also prohibited. Name-faking: Using other team's names (without their consent is not allowed) come first, get served first. If there is a need for, an operator will decide. The same rule applies whenever a name is very similar to another. Nickname: The nick must be addressable! Examples for unaddressable nicks: filthy, insulting or "I strike all fingers up on the keyboard at the same time nicks". The nick may not contain colour-codes. You have to use nicks which are writeable and remindable. E.g.: "/msg Bongo test". Courage: If you see someone who brakes a rule, let him know what he does (private message: / msg nick text). Stay calm, talk factual and don't attack this player personally. If you don't know what to do, ask an OP for advice (message to all operator in the game: / omsg text). Try to settle conflicts. Bots: NO Bots are allowed on tetrinet.de unless those are explicitly allowed and announced on the server by the admin. In that case they may only be used in a channel that is intended for them and is recognizable as a channel for bots (e. g. #tetribot). Breaking this rule can cause strict penalties. Moderator (No 1): The moderator in the Channel has more rights AND more obligations than all others. That's to ensure that the game runs well. That includes: to resign unfair starts, if they are not welcomed by players in the same game and to start a countdown before the game begins. The topic "courage" is especially counting for the moderator. He has to subordinate himself to the OP, if necessary. OP: Only a few selected people are appointed OPs. They have the full confidence of the Admin and are his "right hand". Everyone has to follow the instructions of an OP. In the conflict (an OP can have a bad day, too) don't argue with him. To stay factual and to talk about it, is important. In a conflict with an OP everyone should follow his instructions first and talk about it later on or ask another OP for advice. Op´s can watch the matches as spectators with TSpec. This possibility is used only to uncover cheater and thus to keep the fun in playing tetrinet. Matches can be saves as a proof. But no op can ever read the chat in the channel as a hidden spectator. Therefore the private sphere of the players will not be hurt.
